Reto Wey is passionate to make this world a better place. One of the projects close to his heart is bringing sanitation to the poorest of the world. That’s why he co-founded the Swiss foundation toilets4all.com and has consulted many social enterprises in the past, many of them are local start-ups across the globe. With his banking background it always struck him how ineffective many development resp. anti-poverty programs were. He wanted to make a difference and invest / donate with a truly positive impact by working with local entrepreneurs.
That’s why Reto founded Consulting4Impact, the advisory boutique to create more impact with your capital by utilising all available mechanisms. By sharing his broad and in-depth expertise with Foundations, Development Agencies, Family Offices, High-Net Worth Individuals and Private Banks, he connects them with local enterprises who provide basic services for the poorest of the world. This way he creates the opportunity to have a true impact and to move the world a tiny bit closer to reach the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
In his last position at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Reto developed different catalytic finance models and programs. He also advises a large Swiss foundation in the creation of a venture philanthropy investment portfolio, the novel approach combing investments with high impact and purpose.
In his previous positions over many years at UBS, he managed large projects with over 150 people involved. Being solution orientated and a team player, Reto led his teams to top-results and reached ambitious targets. Acting behind the scenes, he makes great things happen. People working with him appreciate his balanced and interested character. Reto lives with his wife in Basel, is interested in arts and music and he loves to travel. They are shifting some of their investments into high-impact fields mainly in the developing world.
Reto sat down at the end of October with Vanina Farber, professor at the elea-Chair at IMD in Lausanne for an hour long conversation. This recording gives you good insights.
